- Advocates for Justice in Education:
The AJE provides on-going information, education, training, and support to parents, to ensure the success of children with learning challenges in the Public School System. In addition, further collaboration includes a Parent-to-Parent Leadership Institute, which provides parents 6-weeks of training, with a primary focus on educational advocacy and leadership training.
- Children’s Hospital Community Health Center / Adams Morgan Clinic:
A 10-week comprehensive parenting education program provided in Spanish at our site. Parents explore parenting skills their parents used in raising them, evaluate their own parenting skills, and increase their knowledge of positive parenting techniques.
- Columbia Heights / Shaw Family Support Collaborative:
Ongoing reciprocal relations with this coalition of neighborhood service providers, resident associations, churches and community leaders comprising a family support network. TFP is also a member agency of The Collaborative.
- Consulate of Mexico:
In collaboration with the Mexican government, this organization offers formal and informal education to native “Spanish-speakers” which would allow participants to complete their formal (elementary, secondary, and high school) education in their native language(s).
The Consulate of Mexico provides intensive training, teaching materials, assessments, and certification from the Mexican government. In addition, the “Consulate” assists with the recruitment of volunteer instructors.
- DC Central Kitchen:
Hot lunch served five days per week for all the participants in our services and their children through the auspices of this continuing partnership.
- The National Association of Hispanic Elderly / Ayuda para Personas Mayores:
A volunteer staff assemble and serve the meals provided by DC Central Kitchen.
- Mary’s Center for Maternal & Childcare:
Mary’s Center offers a broad spectrum of health and clinical support services to the Latino community, including intermediate and advance ESL classes. A reciprocal referral relationship is ongoing.
