Oralia Puente, Ed.D., is the current Family Place Board Chair, Founder and Board Member of "Septima Clark Charter School for Boys," and a Head Start Family/Community Partnership Specialist at the "Academy for Educational Development (AED)." She is a coach, teacher, trainer, and children's book author and holds graduate degrees from Harvard University. Her extensive travels have taken her to developing countries in South and Central and the Caribbean with projects in education, evaluation, program administration of education programs, and gender analysis. Her love and passion is working with young children and families, and those who support them. Oralia is a native Spanish speaker, learned and speaks Indonesian and Malay, as well as English. Oralia is a proud mother of two young adults who are in college and is one of 12 children from a migrant family.
