The Family Place officially opened its doors 40 years ago. From our beginnings in a basement on Columbia Road NW to our beloved rowhouse on 16th Street NW, our mission has remained the same, to empower low-income families and to foster the optimal development of their young children through educational and support services.
Dr. Barnet's guidance and vision have allowed us to continue promoting stability and well-being for families in the Washington, DC area through education, support services, case management, and social support.
