The Family Place began with a Domestic Violence Support Group in June 2009 with the help of Dr. Claudia Campos, a psychologist and educator in the Latino community who works at El Zol radio station.

After over a decade, we offer the Circle of Latina Women Support Group (Círculo de Mujeres Latinas) to any participant looking for a wide range of experiences to enhance their lives.

On average, 202 Latina women participate yearly in the Spanish-language workshop offered by the Círculo de Mujeres Latinas. The workshop aims to increase their self-confidence and knowledge of legal and psychological resources, ultimately improving their lives.

Dr. Campos covers a wide array of topics like strengthening self-esteem, health, personal growth and self-realization, increasing emotional awareness, and learning about their rights to live a healthy life free of violence.

Intending to educate on prevention and recovery from domestic violence and to explore different spheres of self-care and self-development, participants learn that they can change their lives to create a better future for themselves and their children.

The group meets on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month, between 10 a.m. and noon.
