Emergency Brief Services

(Food, Clothing, & Diaper Distributions)

TFP relies greatly on donations such as non-perishable foods, adult and children’s clothing, diapers, baby products, and any other items to provide to our participants. Participants and walk-ins arriving at TFP are welcome to request diapers, food, or other items as needed and as available.

Food Distribution

Access to food is essential for our students and families to continue their educational journey. Through The Family Place’s Food Distribution Program, we provide weekly food distributions that help reduce food insecurity and allow families to focus on caring for their children, building stability, and achieving their goals.

During the first half of the year, we provided food to both enrolled participants and walk-in community members:

134,061

Pound of food

9,755

bags of food

This work was made possible through the generous support of our community partners

Our impact was further strengthened by the commitment of 14 volunteers who dedicated their time throughout the semester to preparing and distributing food to families in our community. Among them were volunteers from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), whose participation helped make these efforts possible.

TFP holds a clothing drive for active participants and students twice per year, and it distributes books, toys, car seats, strollers, and other donations regularly based on the donations we receive.

If you plan to donate large items like beds or other furniture, please send us a picture in advance so we can find a recipient ahead of time, as our space is limited.

TFP staff then encourages participants, students, and the community to take part in the wide array of services offered.
