Get Involved: TFPPCS Accreditation Process

The Family Place PCS is pursuing accreditation from The Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS). In May 2023, TFPPCS began the self-study phase.

TFPPCS has formed committees, surveyed stakeholders, and evaluated internal processes to create a school improvement plan. A visit from the MSA-CESS team is expected in Spring 2025.

Interested staff, students, and community members can participate by contacting Debbie Namovicz at dnamovicz@thefamilyplacepcs.org

Our collaboration will lead to a brighter future for TFPPCS!

The FY25 Budget Support Act Was Approved!

We’re excited to share that on June 23rd, the FY25 Budget Support Act was approved! We want to highlight the invaluable contributions of our students and our dedicated teachers who testified before the DC Council during the budget season. Their testimonies played a crucial role in improving adult education.  The DC Council's leadership and commitment to equity for all students, along with their support in funding charter schools, have been key in ensuring our students can learn in safe and comfortable buildings.

Home Visiting Council Supports DC Families!

On June 26th, the Home Visiting Council approved support for DC Home Visiting Services. This supports home visiting programs benefiting District families by improving maternal health, infant and child health, school readiness, family education, economic success, and parenting skills and confidence.

Special thanks to Idis Argueta, our HIPPY Home Visiting Coordinator, for sharing her testimony, and to Mary Katherine West, Program Manager of Early Childhood at DC Action, for her outstanding leadership throughout this advocacy season.

Technology Class Certificates!

On June 13, a group of students received certificates for participating in the technology class. Additionally, those who scored above 85% on their Northstar tests earned a $50 Target gift card! We are deeply proud of their hard work and achievements.

New Facility!

Exciting news alert! We're gearing up and planning for a new facility. With our current location at full capacity, we urgently need more space for classes, student support, and instructional/administrative workspace. Our new facilities promise easy access for our community and seamless integration with other TFP services. Stay tuned for updates on this important step!

As always, THANK YOU!!!
